About

Do you like old, beautiful, timeless things? I do too.

This is a blog that shares stories, textually & through visual artifacts that offer timeless aesthetic appeal. Much of the focus here is on the past, but it’s not solely limited to the Silent Age; the name “Silent Age Daydream” is suggestive of a state of mind more than any one era (and it may also be semi-derivative of a certain David Bowie song title). Here we like to value old & ancient things.

The artifacts that we present herein are philosophically significant in two ways. Firstly, they bring back voices from the past, restoring the dead to us through their remnant fragments. Secondly, these artifacts represent superior examples of our collected work as a single human continuum — it is in such works alone, and in our beholding & appreciation of them, that we achieve our greatest possible achievement — the creation of beauty & its sustenance across time. These objects are the proof that we do indeed have something to add to the total equation.

OK, enough with the philosophical talk :). Thanks for stopping by — E
